A Preview of the Season
Coming in November, we begin our season, as always, with a salute to our veterans. As the nation celebrates 250 years, this will be our 12th “salute” to veterans. The program will have familiar patriotic songs that go right to the hearts and memories of listeners will be joined by bold new works by contemporary composers.
In our next theme of “Love not Lost,” listeners will hear beautiful music that stresses the power of music to connect us and preserve memories. This February series will feature guest conductor Composer Stephen Melillo will lead us through a selection of classic works as well as several pieces of his own composing, sure to be great favorites with audience members.
Finally, we round out our season in April with the theme of “Bold and Beautiful.” To properly ring in the end to a wonderful season, Conductor Donald Jemella has curated a selection of music where the bold and the beautiful meet at every turn. From the opera houses to the movie houses, the concert features songs that audiences members will know and love.
